Loving dogs... creating blogs....A website for dog care and dog training

Three months ago, I started a website called Dog Care Reviews. In the beginning, I would post articles I had already posted in related sites, while i learned the rudiments of social bookmarking.

Then, with excellent guidance from Ms Ranganayaki Srinivas, i explored the net for dog care products. dog training resources and other related dog care sites. From then on I started reviewing these products and resources on my sites, while I joined several affiliate programs that promoted dog care products.

Affiliate Programs

I joined an affiliate program called Butterfly Reports that enabled me to provide freely downloadable dog training resources for my readers.  That really pleased me!  You can look forward to some more excellent (freely downloadable) reports on my site in the near future!

I also posted useful tips and handy hits for dog care on the site regularly, interspersed with pictures and utube videos. I solicited the opinion and advice of many well wishers and expert webmasters on how to improve my site.  I have got many useful suggestions, that i plan to implement right away....

Site Analysis 

In the meanwhile I signed up for the excellent Google Analytics, Tool that told me how many people visited my site.  With Google Analytics one is able discern the average visitor's profile, how interesting he/she found the site and his/her geographical location.  There are so many more parameters in Analytics that you are instantly able to gauge why people did or did not visit your site. 

This kind of information has  greatly helped in making changes in the site for better.  With the changes made I was delighted to see that the number of visitors have been rising steadily and the time they spend on the site has also increased! 

Social Bookmarking

By the time the site was two months old social book marking had become a habit and an extremely useful exercise.  For every article/blog posted I joined one new social book marking site.  Right now I am a member in several of them and have also made friends who help in the promotion of one anothers' sites/blogs. 

Ms Srinivas  suggested that I sign up in Ezine and submit articles.  I did and now have an expert author status with them, having contributed five articles.  This has considerably increased the visibility of my site in high Internet traffic zones! .  If you search on google for dog care reviews you now get over a 100 entries. 

Product Creation - My First eProduct

I was pleased with all these positive indicators of a well developing site... but i wanted to do more ... Again, Ms Rangoo came up with the brilliant suggestion that i write an e-book and that i did.  I got an e-book ready. Called "101 delicious recipes For Your Pet Dog"  I priced it at $24.95 and have created a Paypal facility for the sale of the book. 

In a pdf format, the book lists simple, easy to prepare meals for a dog, with ingredients that are familiar and easily available.  I have done quite some research to include flavors and spices that are immensely healthy and very popular with dogs. To increase traffic to the site and boost the ebook sale, I have set up an auto responder on the site to elicit membership of dog lovers so I can regularly send them tips and resources.

The Future?

There is a great sense of satisfaction for having brought the site up to this level in three months time.... but i still want to reach higher... I want Dog Care Reviews to become on of the most popular dog care sites on the net... I want to reach to all dog lovers in the world and share with them dog training and care information.... I want to get ready many many more e-books that highlight specific aspects of dogs, in a comprehensive and eminently informative manner.....

Lofty goals indeed... but I am confident that my journey towards these goals will be sincere and I will go forward with the confidence that I have such a good mentor to motivate encourage and help me.  Thank You Madame Rangoo!
