A number of products that you buy today may not be useful to you tomorrow. But there are a few that lasts throughout your online venture. That is webspace, a good website builder and a WordPress blog. For all the other things you should ask yourself:

What I Bought Today, Will It Be Useful Tomorrow? 

The special offers, free contents and big launches with a dash of drama are attacking my inbox day after day. I seem to be getting involved in learning new things that get me momentary result. Some are so short lived that by the time I learn it well, they no longer work. This is happening not only with free downloads of great content, simple launches ranging from $7 to $27 but also those that costs thousands of dollars and are launched with a lot of fan fare.

All the latest high profiled product launches teach the use of social media to get traffic to sites and blogs. So we can say for sure that this technique will not be effective in a year from now. With everyone rushing to social media sites with no intention of socializing and many social media sites started to attract this traffic is going to result in a flood of activity that produce momentary results.

Once a big launch successfully sells out for thousands of dollars there will be a hundred small ones that piggy ride the wave of interest in that topic. Someone not involved in internet marketing can observe all this and laugh at the way we all behave.

What can a person like me who is neck deep into this do?

Of course the first thing to do is to keep my head above the flood and not let myself get drowned. Then I can try to heave myself up and do something that is quite different from what everyone else is doing. This may get better results for me for a slightly longer period than what is the ‘in thing’ now.

Keeping my head above the level of water involves the realization that techniques are taught to the masses or secrets are revealed to the innocent only when these techniques and secrets have lost part of their effect. They are going to lose their value further because of the thousands implementing the strategies in their own way.

When someone has creatively solved the problem of traffic or conversion in a unique way why would they teach it to others to increase their competition.? But they would teach it to us when they have no more use for that particular secret. They will make the most of selling a second hand car they have no use for since they are getting for themselves the latest high speed vehicle.

Ok then what can we do about all this?

At the simplest level….

We have to start implementing what we buy or download asap.

“Hurry this offer is not going to last for ever” – this kind of statement you might have seen on sales letter. What I am saying is even if the offer lasted for ever, they are not going to be useful for you for ever. So make the most of it when the going is good. 

Invest in basic infrastructure such as a good WordPress blog or a website builder that you will certainly need before you start using any of the other things you buy.

Find out the things that have never their value and spend more time on implementing them.
